Avoiding phishing swap sites

Private swaps still require you to send coins to a deposit address. Attackers forge sites and messages to steal that step. Slow down before you sign a transfer.

Check the domain

Type the Anonymous Swap URL yourself or use a bookmark you created. Lookalike domains swap letters or add hyphens. TLS alone does not prove legitimacy.

Clipboard and address tricks

Malware can replace copied addresses. Compare the start and end of deposit and payout addresses after pasting. On hardware wallets, confirm on-device.

  • Ignore DMs that ask you to “re-send” a deposit
  • Anonymous Swap will not ask for your seed
  • Do not install random “support” browser extensions

If something feels off

Do not send the deposit. Re-open the site from a known-good entry point, recreate the order if needed, and only then transfer funds.
