BSC BEP-20 vs ERC-20
BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20) and Ethereum (ERC-20) both use similar address formats. Wallets can show both; explorers cannot move tokens across chains for you.
Why the confusion happens
MetaMask can switch between Ethereum and BSC. Token tickers look identical. Deposit screens that only show a 0x address without a network name invite mistakes.
How to stay safe
Read the network on the Anonymous Swap order. If it says BSC / BEP-20, switch MetaMask to BNB Smart Chain before sending. If it says Ethereum, stay on mainnet.
- Check the network badge in your wallet
- Confirm token contract when multiple USDT entries exist
- Prefer TRC-20 or Solana if you want lower fees and already hold those balances
After a correct deposit
Once the BEP-20 or ERC-20 deposit confirms, the exchange proceeds and pays out your chosen receive asset (often XMR) on its own network.
