Choosing an XMR wallet
Your Monero wallet is the privacy endpoint of most Anonymous Swap flows. Choose software you understand and back up before the first payout.
Decision factors
Mobile vs desktop, ease of sync, coin control features, and whether you want Monero-only software. Hardware support for Monero exists but has a steeper setup curve.
Solid defaults
Cake Wallet for mobile, Feather for desktop simplicity, official GUI/CLI if you want upstream defaults. All three can provide addresses suitable for swap payouts.
Safety habits
Generate the wallet on your own device. Never type a seed into a website. Verify the first characters of the payout address after pasting into the swap form.
- One backup, stored offline
- Subaddresses are fine for receiving swaps
- Test with a smaller amount first if you are new to XMR
